The orchestra leader has been creating musical memories for years at all types of events across the Midwest.

Mike_WaltersMichael Walters wears a lot of hats but probably one of his favorite is that of Solo Pianist . Michael payed his dues to become not only a fine pianist but keyboardist for his bands and others along his 30+ year career path.

After becoming a professional Trumpet player in his 20’s and early 30’s and playing for such artists as Ella Fitztgerald, Bob Hope, Pointer Sisters, Steve and Eydie Gorme and many others he decided to switch instruments and take his love of piano to the next level.

He went back to study at Roosevelt University with renown Classical Piano teacher Goldie Golub for 15 years. Getting a strong technique and learning the Classical repertoire was a high priority but Jazz piano was his love and being able to perform as a solo pianist was the most challenging of all.

Wedding Pianist & More

He also was taking some solo piano gigs at Hotels and other venues llike Chicago Hilton, Westin hotel etc… and playing for events and weddings and in the areas Bars and Lounges.

He also expanded his solo piano repertoire into the Jazz and Pop idioms by briefly study with some great Jazz piano teachers in Chicago area including Larry Novak, Alan Swain, Skip Green, John Cambell and many others.
